COAST TO COAST NIGHT TRAIL ULTRA is an iconic running event held in the southern part of Yogyakarta.
Coast to Coast Night Trail Ultra (CTC) is held every February since 2015. The starting line starts at Depok Beach, Yogyakarta then along Parangkusumo Beach, Parangtritis Beach, crossing beautiful hills, Parangkusumo sand dunes and finishing at the same point as the start line in Depok Beach with typical beach treats, grilled fish and Dawet Ice.
Trail Runners Yogyakarta (TRY) designed Coast to Coast for the first time in February 2015 with the aim of bringing together runners from various regions to meet in an event titled Gatherings Race. Gathering Race is a race that is managed by gathering or meeting approaches. Bringing up a competitive aura of kinship. 300 runners, divided into 42K and 21K categories, attended the 2015 CTC.
In February 2016, CTC was developed into the 13K, 25K and 50K categories. The total number of runners who took part in the second year’s Gathering Race reached 531 runners.
In February 2017 CTC was held again, to meet the demand of CTC runners presenting 3 categories, namely 25K, 50K, and 70K. By maintaining the 25K, 50K categories and adding 70K, runners will pass tourist icons found in the southern part of Yogyakarta such as Langse Cave, Cerme Cave, Baked Tourism Forest Area, Gatot Subroto Climb or better known by the participants, namely km34 and difficult climbs. Forgotten CTC participants namely Parangkusumo Sand Gumuk here participants were faced with the challenge of running on a sand dune which was quite hot and drained of course energy as far as 4 kilometers to the finish line.
As a gathering, after passing a lot of climbs and descent, also after you made it through the Parangkusumo Sand Dune which is the only mini desert in Southeast Asia, you will enjoy grilled fish along with other runners after crossing the finish line.
In February 2019 the CTC Ultra was held again with a total of 1230 participants from 15 different countries with the 13K, 25K, 50K, 70K categories.
On the Coast to Coast Night Trail Ultra 2020, it not only tests physical and mental challenges, but will also give a family impression that is hard to forget. For that in 2020 we added another category, 100K.
